Dear all,
Yesterday we had a meeting with Shah from security company at Ramesh house together with four other residents. Before the meeting, I was thinking of suggesting some security improvement that I want, while one resident even took the time to draft a standard operating procedure for discussion.
But halfway through the discussion, the reality kicks in and I wish to summarize as follows:
1. Collection for security maintenance is at 30%
Shah explained that prima Nova might want to reduce further the number of guard to 3, from 5 today due to not many residents are paying. With 5 guards today, 2 are for day time (1 post A while another post B) while 3 for night time. No wonder sometime the post are not attended as the guard need to buy lunch, go toilet breaks not including attending to emergency.
Note: Toilets not working on both post A & B, while B got no water too (water meter gone)
2. Residents not co-operating with Guards
There seems to be quite a number of residents who refused to get the car sticker & became rude when guards ask them to register. They even question who is Ramesh to give instructions to the Guards to beef up the security.
While we talk about 2 hours on these issues among other things, but I think for today, lets concentrate on this 2:
1. The issue about residents not paying
In order to hv some level of efficient security, we need a minimum 6 guards (3/3) to be effective. We used to hv 12 guards, if u guys still remember, now down to 5, soon to be 3 and soon no more. One of us suggested CCTV to replace the reducing guards, while the other said digital camera to snap visitors. But reality is, a few of us are paying & many of us are not! So how are we going to get better security when we cannot even afford the minimum?
Now, some of u might argue I only pay if I can get better security or how sure the security will improve? I do not want to go into chicken & egg argument here, but I think all of u are aware no money, no talk! So, please pay your security fees or we will lose this guarded community concept.
2. The issue about who is Ramesh?
Ramesh is nobody, he is just a resident like the rest of us here, but someone who cares about his family & his home, who willing to contribute some extra time so that his chosen home is a condusive place for his family to live in. Now, who are you questioning Ramesh? Can you do better? If yes, pls come & join us, if you can't, then why are questioning him? The sticker is only RM10 for two years, so if you can afford a car, u can afford the sticker.
The way I look at it, this issues can be easily resolved & only boils down to our attitude as residents of Tmn Tasik Prima. This two issue is the most simple thing to do & yet we cannot do it due to selfishness, ignorance blah blah blah.
Ok, enough talk as I do not want to sound like a grandfather, here are the action plans we discussed:
1. Effective 1 August 2008, all cars without stickers will be stop & residents / visitors will be ask to register.
2. We will set up an interim Residents Association & get it registered ASAP (3 months estimate) Those who gets offended after reading this thread or dont agree with us, then pls volunteer to be a committee member. No NATO
3. All will be encouraged to pay the security fees, while I know some of you might hv been overdue for so long, but pls pay some rather than not at all. Dont be selfish as others are paying for it while you are benefiting for free.
There will be a newsletter explaning about this matter, but I want to point this out here as I think it is time we all consider what role & what future we want for our Tmn Tasik Prima.
