Just want to check, anyone having termite problem? Found trail of termite in my kitchen area above ceiling. Made a report to the maintenance office and was told that we have 5 years warranty on termite treatment. he took a few photos last week and was telling me the pest controller will contact me for treatment. hope they will come before my kitchen roof collapses.

Hi Friends,
Its nice to know that we have our own tmn blogspots. This can be really helpful once all the residents get active participating in it. Anyhow, the reason of my msg is that I am staying at 95, Jln3/1 and I am noticing some dust accumulating near timber parquet along staircase and also indication of void beneath the parquet. I have lodged a complaint to developer suspecting of termite attack, but was told off that their warranty period has expired and they are not in position to help. I have spoken to the project manager, Mr tiew?? and mr.ridzuan.
Based on my inquiries around the neighborhood, many houses are affected and normally the trend is that the termite will spread from one house to another. Anybody has any suggestion pertaining to this matter? I feel that we need to address the problem quite urgently before its too late.

Hi Kather, This is not consider as defect. Warranty and defact are 2 different things. Who ever handling your case must understand the term termite warranty and defect warranty. If the defact warranty is 18 month then it's 18months and if the termite warranty say's 5 years as claim by Doc then it will 5 years. Thanks Hi, I have received an official letter from Prima Nova dated 13-08-08 which confirms that no rectification works on termite problem shall be carried out as the defect liabilty period only stands for 18mths. Hi Ramesh / Harjeet,
Good to hear that but do we have any document or clause that we can refer to. We can make our case stronger by applying such clauses. If possible, please advise so that I can write back to them officially. Thanks.

Hi,
My house also recently in October08 detected termite activity, contacted prima office and they mentioned the 18 months warranty defect is over, but is there any clauses in our agreement mentioned on termite treatment warranty?? Even if they have done the treatment, it would not be so easy the termite can attack the house, especially with chemical treatment through the cement slab of our kitchen underground???

for the past few months my neighbour and I also detected termite activies in our store room and grd floor toilet.. and it has got from bad to worse lately.
Any chance to give an update on the stand off with the management on warranty?
If not we'll need to engage a 3rd party pest control fast before thing gets out of hand.
Thanks.

My neighbour recently told me about this matter a few days ago...a few houses got the same problem...here in Jalan 3/1.
She was told by the developer that it's not their problem anymore and said that the warranty or maybe easier to say that they only bear the termite problem for us within two years...after that it's the owner of the house's problem.
